“When I say to a parent, “read to a child”, I don’t want it to sound like medicine. I want it to sound like chocolate.”
Hi there!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit StorySacks Ireland it genuinely fills me with joy to think that other people are interested in this venture! Let me start by giving you a little bit of a back story. My name is Emma and first and foremost am ‘Mammy’ to two little ones – a boy James and a girl Leah.
It was when I had James that I became really interested in early learning education and development and decided that on maternity leave I’d do a part-time course in Montessori. I found every aspect of Montessori interesting but in particular loved the sensory and literacy elements to it (having always had a love for books this was unsurprising!). I can’t remember when or how I fell in love with books however I knew that I wanted the same for James and Leah – this is when I stumbled across the “story sack” and “bookish play” concepts and instantly fell in love with them!
My journey has now led me to this – merging all of my favourite things – books, sensory toys, wooden toys and arts & crafts – StorySacks Ireland has been born! My goal is to bring the joy of books to little ones through the tried and tested ideas of “story sacks” and “bookish play” and I hope that these will bring hours of fun to those that go on this journey with us.
Thanks again for visiting the site (I’ve done a little happy dance!!)
